Star Wars: Force Unleashed Gets Some Bad Reviews

September 23, 2008 at 2:31 pm (Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony Playstation 3) (, , )

Lucas’ Arts’ newest game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, was released last week. Unfortunately, the long awaited game was met with incredibly poor reviews from online and print sources. It received an average rating of 72% at gamerankings.com. Even after the incredibly fun demo released on PSN, the game was riddled with glitches and bugs. The story was mediocre for a Star Wars themed epic. Even the gameplay controls managed to dampen the fun of the game with force grip being difficult to use and the enemies being fairly difficult. Acoording to most reputable game review sites this game looks like a rent or not buy. And that makes me incredibly sad.

Microsoft Slashes Xbox Prices

September 4, 2008 at 10:23 am (Uncategorized)

Looks like Mircosoft is trying to aggresively take hold of as much of the gaming market as they possibly can. In a move that copies both Sony and Nintendo they have decided to lower the price of all three versions of their popular consoles. The Xbox 360 Arcade now only costs $199. That’s $50 lower than the Wii. The Xbox 360 is now $299. The most expensive version of the console, the Xbox 360 Elite, is stitting at a cool $399. As it stands right now, Microsoft’s goal seems to be taking a bite out of the casual gamer pie. With the new user interface a la Mii style, and the new Xbox Live website, Primetime, Microsoft looks to even more secure its second place behind Nintendo for this current generation of consoles.

STILL don’t have a DS? There’s a new color coming to the US!

September 2, 2008 at 8:04 pm (Announcement, Nintendo Company Ltd., Nintendo DS) ()

If you’re one of the many (AHEM, Nautilus) who doesn’t own a DS, your wait might be worth the shiny new silver colored DS coming to the states on Sept. 7th, which is just a few days away!  This would add to the great list of DS colors including the original white, black, black and red combo (which i have), black and blue combo, navy blue, pink, metallic rose, and not to mention the limited edition DSes.

Man those are a lot of colors to choose from, and adding this color to the mix makes me feel like I’m at at ice cream store… and I want a scoop of pretty much all of the flavors.

Actually, I REALLY like the SOLID RED one… but that’s for japan only.  Booooo :(

Wotlk Beta Impressions

September 2, 2008 at 2:37 pm (PC) (, , , , , , )

I managed to grab my hands on a beta account for the highly anticipated expansion to the blockbuster MMO World of Warcraft. For those not in the know, World of Warcraft is a high selling MMORPG that currently has 8 million subscribers. The original game was released in late 2004 with the first expansion being released in 2007 and it has quickly risen the ranks of previous MMO to set a record of players worldwide. Since then Blizzard has been quick to deliver new content to the masses and has promised a new expansion with a brand new class with Wrath of the Lich King.
