Back From the Dead! Also VGEXPO

Video Game Expo in Philly
So I’ve decided to revive this blog mostly just because I’ve freed up a good amount of time and I really want to see this blog become big. Most of my former staff have pretty much had their time stripped from them because of other responsibilities. However, I am always recruting new writers and moderators for the blog. If you’re interested in writing some articles for the blog, you can always e-mail me at lpemcee21ATgmail.com.
As for some more interesting new, I will be attending the VGXPO in Philadelphia this year. I’m REALLY looking forward to event as it should be very exciting and informative. I will be posting pictures and possibly some video from the event so be on the look-out!
Age of Conan Continues to Steadily Die

Another victim of the monster known as World of Warcraft, Funcom’s Age of Conan MMO has been slowly but surely dying since its release. Despite the hope that there could be a game to co-exist successfully alongside WoW, Age of Conan failed. In order to consolidate what few players still play the game, Funcom is merging servers across all its regions. The North American servers are seeing its twenty-five launch servers being cut to six. In Europe, their thirteen servers are going down to four, Germany is going from six to three, and the four French servers are going down to three.
Youtube Coming to Your TV’s Via Your Consoles

Wii Screen
Youtube is expanding. Google wants you to watch Youtube videos on your PC’s, Phones, PDA’s, iTouch’s, and now they want you to watch Youtube on your TV’s. Youtube’s venture onto TV’s is nothing new. They have been trying to get it to you for a while now. However, the service hasn’t really been widely adopted. Youtube on TV users have been limited to people with TiVo’s, Apple TV, and properly configured users with TVersity. Welcome to Youtube TV Beta.

Today is a day for change. New President, New Year, New WoW Patch, and a new theme and layout for our blog! I thought it was time for a change and I hope you all like it.
Rumored Nintendo DSi US Release Date and Price

A model shows a Nintendo DSi
Despite no official word from Nintendo, IGN has reported that according to many sources close to Nintendo, the newest iteration of the DS is set to hit the states sometime in April. Japanese audiences have been enjoying the Nintendo DSi since November and if the sales in Japan are any indication, there should be no reason the console won’t succeed overseas.
US Gets Resident Evil 5 Collector’s Edition
Capcom recently revealed the Collector’s Edition for RE5 for the states. There’s a lot of neat stuff in the package. Read the rest of this entry »
Dead Rising goes Japanese Metal
Here’s a fun video courtesy of Capcom. Hopefully, the actual final game won’t be as bad as what was shown at TGS 2008. Enjoy the all the character cameos and funny motion capture.
God of War III and Uncharted 2 Trailers

Not so much trailers as they are teasers. I was expecting a little more from the VGA’s this year. It wasn’t exactly bad as much as it was awkward. Jack Black and Kyle shooting fireworks from their crotches while fighting the ‘devil’s’ minions; exercise, reading, and healthy relationships. Not necessarily my cup of tea. Here are the videos without all the unnecessary celebrity cameos, after the break.
PSN Catches Up to Xbox Live
Sony recently announced that they have 14 million members registered to the Playstation Network. This number matches the numbers Microsoft announced last month at TGS. Of course, numbers like these can’t always be fully accepted as truth. PSN is free, meaning that people are more likely to go ahead and register to play or shop online. It also means that people are probably going to create multiple accounts on one machine. This can lead to inflated numbers. The fact of the matter still remains that PSN is a free service and Xbox Live is not. Being able to support the same number of people as a paid service for free is a testament to Sony.
Sony has definitely made some boneheaded mistakes in the past. The Playstation Network is, for sure, not one of them.
Internet Channel Will Get Update
So Nintendo will finally update their Internet Channel with three new additions the original browser. WiiSpeak microphone support will be added to the browser. How that will work no one really knows. Voice chat? Skype? Nintendo will finally join the firefox generation and add tabbed browsing to the internet channel in the form of a tab cube. Each side of the cube shows a tab. Seems pretty odd to me, but at least it’ll have the same functionality as my favorite browser. Lastly, you’ll be able to read your wii messages from inside the browser. As a cosmetic change, Nintendo opted to make the buttons on the bottom big and stupid looking. I have no idea who makes the decisions, but these buttons look real stupid.
